I mentioned ages ago that I had been shortlisted in Make Your Mark in the Market … after a lot of stressful events I FINALLY did my first trading day today. I have no car at the moment and we had no sitter and the market I was assigned was over an hour away!!! So the whole Moo family was up at 5:30 getting dressed and ready for the market we arrived at 7:30 and was assigned our pitch. I didn’t take as much stuff as I would normally but with M&M in the car space suddenly becomes limited!
I must admit I do do my proud mummy bit a lot but both of the children were so well behaved and I was a bit wary when I was assigned a pitch right next to a main road. Daddy Moo took them off for a few hours to the port to watch the boats and then to the park. Moo was delighted to fill me in on chips on the Quay! I don’t do many events as my time is quite limited and I don’t like to give up the weekends as that’s my family time so it was nice to be able to combine both aspects mumpreneur style! It reminds me how lucky I am to have a job that allows me to do so and how lucky I am to have such a supportive partner in Daddy Moo.
Bridport has a gorgeous market covering 3 streets with an eclectic mix of clothing, toys, fabric, farmers market produce, antiques, handmade pottery. jewellery and loads more …… the town has a very lovely mix of independent retailers and high street chains. The hills off in the distance down the high street made it such a beautiful place to be.
I’m not sure whether market trading is the way to go for Charlie Moo’s but I did enjoy myself and had a great response to the handmade fabric party bags so thanks to Jayne for giving me a hand last night adding the Thank You Seed Tags and finishing off the Pre-Fills. So a few more days to go and the dreaded judging!! Then I will have a clearer idea about whether Charlie Moo’s can make its mark in the market??
