Loyalty rewarded that’s MyIce

Sponsored Post – we were plied with free tea and cake and £20 credit on an Ice card to use as we saw fit. However the thoughts and opinions are mine alone (plus odd comment from David).

Washingpool farm shop 5I previously blogged about loyalty schemes and loyalty cards and what benefits these can pose to your business and customers. Little Pickles Markets loved my blog so much that #TeamJD designed their fabulous new loyalty cards which are hitting the markets NOW! So make sure you pick up one!

As a Tots100 Blogger I was invited with the children (and David came too) to an Ice Tea Party .. lots of yummy cake! I must admit I didn’t read past that I could have been mucking out cows for all I knew 😉 Luckily I wasn’t. The idea behind the event was for Ice to promote their loyalty cards, we got to ask lots of questions over tea and cake and the children had a play. Sadly it was raining and sooooo cold! We did duck out a few times with the children in between spells to see the lambs and chickens. Washingpool Farm is lovely .. it’s not local to us and had we not been starting a 4 day break in Weymouth that day we wouldn’t have been able to attend.

What is Ice?
Ice is a new programme that generously rewards you for making environmentally friendly purchases.
Ice has partnered with a network of retailers that offer everyday products and services, which are a more sustainable option and better for the environment. When you shop with these partners via Ice, you receive Ice points.
Unlike conventional rewards programmes, you can collect and spend your Ice on the same partners and products.
There are no catches: you can spend your Ice as soon as it is in your MyIce Account and mix it with cash or card payment.

Washingpool tea party 1What did we think?
I love the ethical concept and values behind Ice and the brands they are associated with, especially farm shops.  Slightly sad to find no physical farm shops in our local area which is odd I live in rural Dorset! But I will keep the card to hand in case we are ever somewhere and a farm shop or farmers market takes it.  At Washingpool Farm we spent some money on homemade sausages, bread and chutney … yummy! I have used £10 as a voucher to use online at John Lewis.  There is still a lot of features and information I haven’t accessed on the site yet. But the principle is the same as collecting points on your Tesco/Nectar card – only the outlets are better and most of the time the points are higher.

At the event was Devon blogger – Devon Mummy and her little lady – unlike me she was hot on the case and blogged about this weeks ago .. so do check out her thoughts and opinions too.
